January 16 - February 28: Tin Can Challenge
Help us raise a tonne of food for the Richmond Food Bank. Visit our unique tin can sculpture. Bring a food bank donation to receive 2 for 1 admission.
March 12 – 23: Spring Break at the Cannery
Rain or shine, parents and kids will find lots to do at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site this Spring Break. Daily from 10 am. to 5 pm., a host of activities will be taking place inside. Kids can take part in maritime related crafts or join our popular guided tours through the fascinating history of the Cannery, which run every hour on the hour. There are plenty of hands-on exhibits for kids to enjoy as they hear tales of BC’s fishing heritage.
April 7: Easter Scavenger Hunt
Kids can take part in a scavenger hunt for plastic eggs hidden throughout the Cannery. Along the way they'll learn about Steveston's fishing history. At the end of the scavenger hunt they'll exchange the eggs for prizes.
July 1: Canada Day
Free Admission. Join in the fun during the Canada Day Parade and the Steveston Salmon Festival.
July 6 to August 3: Music at the Cannery
Join us every Friday night for our summer music series. A wide range of musical tastes will be represented. Performers take to our outdoor stage at 6:30 pm.
August 25 to October 31: Fishing the West Coast.
Don’t miss the Cannery’s annual photography contest and exhibition.
September 15 & 16: International Talk Like a Pirate Day
Ahoy mateys, join us for a day of pirate fun at the Cannery. Kids crafts and activities, and a prize for the best pirate phrase.
October 27 & 28: Haunted Cannery Tours
Join us for a hair-raising tour though the Cannery, as ghosts of the departed lead guests on a spooky journey through BC’s fishing history.
