Our interpretive staff will lead your group back into the days of hard working ranch cowboys, who worked for little pay and possessed a true love for the land. Your day will include a breathtaking view of the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site situated in the rolling foothills of Alberta at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Ranching demonstrations, informative tours and tasty cowboy grub will round out your time at the ranch. In the Visitor Orientation Centre, guests can wander through the Range Land Exhibit and view the award winning historical video The Mighty Bar U. Wander through the Pekisko Creek Valley and experience Bar U Ranch National Historic Site adventures.
Your private tour will see you descend onto the original headquarters and walk back in time by exploring some of the 35 historic buildings and structures. A knowledgeable interpreter will develop the history of one of the oldest ranches in southern Alberta in an entertaining and educational format. Groups may encounter Bar U riders, a harness repairman, a blacksmith or even an ornery roundup cook!
