Higher temperatures and lower water levels are expected throughout the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence system. Lower water levels will alter wetlands in a number of national parks.

In La Mauricie National Park of Canada, the Arctic char is at the southern end of its range and is, therefore, susceptible to warmer conditions. Many other coldwater fish may be extirpated from the park. There are also some 70 rare plant species within La Mauricie. Climate change may alter the range of these plants and threaten their survival in the park.
