4 Other Considerations

Province House, PEIHealth and safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, environmental considerations and new additions to historic places can be extremely important aspects of conservation projects. While they are usually not part of the overall process of conserving heritage value (Preservation, Rehabilitation or Restoration), it is important that such considerations be assessed for any potential adverse impact on the heritage values of the historic place. In particular, care must be taken not to obscure, damage or destroy character-defining elements.
