ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland and Labrador, April 12, 2010 – The Honourable Jim Prentice, Canada's Environment Minister and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, announced federal support to recognize Terry Fox at the site where he began his Marathon of Hope.
“I am pleased to honour the legacy of Terry Fox, a truly inspiring Canadian, by further commemorating the site where he began his Marathon of Hope thirty years ago,” said Minister Prentice. “Canadians of all ages and all walks of life will be able to experience this site as a place to believe in their dreams, to share their hopes, or to personally connect to the legacy of a Canadian icon.” Read the news release
