The Fortifications of Québec National Historic Site is among many Parks Canada's sites that each year present the Fab Forts national event. The 2012 edition commemorated the War of 1812. It's a unique occasion to discover the central role forts played and to highlight the profound importance they have had in Canada's history. Parks Canada is pleased to present 1812 On Tour, a travelling experience that brings to life the stories of a war that helped define Canada as a nation. Get to know some of the heroes of the war, take your photo in front of our huge inflatable numbers, and learn about the most important landscapes, forts and buildings that make up the more than 20 Parks Canada War of 1812 national historic sites in Central and Eastern Canada.
