Harper Government Introduces New Legislation to Protect Sable Island National Park Reserve
On August 24, 2012, the Honourable Peter Kent, Canada’s Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada visited Sable Island National Park Reserve. Shown here is Minister Kent walking the spectacular Bald Dune of Sable Island along with Parks Canada staff.
Bald Dune is a highly dynamic, un-vegetated dune which offers the island's highest vantage point. To get a sense of the height of this dramatically sloping dune, the horses in the distance, which appear small, are full-sized adult horses.
