Visitors will have the chance to see the quirky and interesting mating rituals of the American Woodcock. Aerial displays and calling will be featured in this short walk.

Marsh by Moonlight - Dark Sky Night

Enjoy warm spring evening and a nearly full moon. Join us moonlight paddle through the marsh or take a hike around the Marsh Boardwalk to learn about our Marsh Monitoring program. Members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada - Windsor Centre will be on hand at the boardwalk location beginning shortly after sunset, pointing out the constellations of early summer and offering a close-up view of the full moon as it rises in the southeast. The planet, Jupiter, is also well placed in the sky all evening long and even Saturn, with its incomparable ring system, is coming into view. We will be enjoying amazing views of these and other sights through the telescope.

Perseid Meteor Celebration

Park open all night between August 12 and 13.

We’re staying open all night to view the peak of this annual meteor shower. Join members of RASC at West Beach later in the evening and enjoy the meteor show.

Do you need more information?

These dates offer the darkest skies for optimum viewing due to their proximity to the new moon. Designated as a Dark Sky Preserve by the Windsor Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, the Park will be open until midnight. For the best star gazing encounters, we recommend you come equipped with binoculars or a telescope.
