Located across the road from the Visitor Reception Centre, Pijeboogwek is the hub for winter activities in the park, as well as the starting point for many of our cycling paths.

Did you know? The name Pijeboogwek is an early variation of the Mi'kmaq name Kouchibouguac, which means "river of the long tides".

Opening hours

The Pijeboogwek Waxing Shelter is open daily with a park attendant on duty until March 31, 2018.

  • Monday - Thursday: 9 am - 5 pm
  • Friday - Sunday: 8 am - 8 pm

Please note: If the park attendant is absent from the shelter, please purchase your permit at the Park Administration building.

Rentals

Equipment rentals are available during winter months. Cross-country skis, snowshoes and fat bikes are available for rent. We recommend that you call in advance to check availability. (Reservations can be taken for fat bikes only)
