Road to 2017 Poster and Graphic Novel Contest
Parks Canada and Confederation Centre of the Arts were pleased to host Ms. Nicole Martin’s grade 7 class from Miscouche Consolidated School last week as the winners of the Road to 2017 Art Contest. The class created graphic novels that told a part of Canada’s story and its development as a nation.
During their visit to the Confederation Chamber, the class was presented with a copy of Parks Canada’s new film about Province House National Historic Site and the Charlottetown Conference “A Building of Destiny”. They also met Thomas D’Arcy McGee, a Father of Confederation, played by one of the company members with the popular Confederation Players program at the Centre. Following the tour, the class participated in an art class with graphic novel artist Jeff Alward and then visited the Confederation Centre Art Gallery to study the works of various Canadian visual artists.
