These are extremely rare examples of a 10th Royal Veteran Battalion oval brass belt-plate and white leather bayonet belt. The battalion was raised specifically for service in Canada. The regiment served as detachments in Upper Canada based at Fort Amherstburg (Fort Malden), Fort St. Joseph and other posts in the province. A company of the 10th RVB in garrison at Fort St. Joseph participated in the important attack and capture of the American fort at Mackinac, Michigan Territory at the outset of the War of 1812.
