Background Information

Salish Sea: A Handbook for Educators includes a book and a music CD. These tools will help students to better understand marine ecosystems and encourage them to be active agents of change in protecting our oceans. This is a joint project of Parks Canada and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Province of BC. The handbook is full of useful ideas, lessons and advice for educating students of many levels about marine life and the heritage of the sea along the Pacific Coast.

Salish Sea: The CD. Built on the lyrics of traditional, original and popular songs, the CD features singer-songwriter Holly Arntzen accompanied by choirs from the Saanich School district on Vancouver Island.
