North of Superior Marina Marketing Association, established in 1993, is dedicated to promoting boating opportunities along the Canadian shore of Lake Superior. The Association coordinates and provides joint marketing and promotional opportunities with communities, government and private sector representatives. Parks Canada manages three protected areas along Lake Superior--the Sault Canal National Historic Site, Pukaskwa National Park and the soon to be established Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. The North of Superior Marina Marketing Association and Parks Canada are collaborating to provide greater capacity for public education, research and promotion along Lake Superior's north shore, thus improving communications with visitors. It may also lead to a better understanding of the public's perceptions and expectations, helping to improve services and programs for visitors to the north shore.
