Disclosure of Contracts valued at more than $10,000

Overview

On March 23, 2004, the Canadian Government announced a new policy on the mandatory publication of contracts with a value superior to $10,000.

In compliance with this policy, the Parks Canada Agency Web site now contains information on contracts issued by or on behalf of the Agency. The first set of data provided covers two quarters: from April 1st till June 30th 2004, and from July 1st till September 30th 2004. Please note that the vast majority of the Agency contracts for this period are listed here. The missing information should be available by November 15th. As to future quarters, the Agency will henceforth publish on its Web site, thirty days after each quarter, the list of contracts issued during that quarter.

The rules and principles governing government contracting are outlined in the Treasury Board Contracting Policy, which can be found at:
http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pubs_pol/dcgpubs/Contracting/contractingpol_e.asp.

The objective of government procurement contracting is to acquire goods and services, including construction services, in a manner that enhances access, competition and fairness and results in best value to Canada.
